Activities like Shopping, Entertainment and Gaming, Social? In a broad sense, the Metaverse refers to the idea of interconnected virtual worlds supported by virtual reality and blockchain technologies, where people can meet to work and play.

Accessing Metaverse

The Metaverse will be accessible through mobile devices, laptops, desktops, gaming consoles, virtual reality glasses, wristbands, and headsets. It will enable millions of users to work, collaborate, learn, play, shop, connect, etc. 

To make the Metaverse more immersive, companies are using advanced technologies such as blockchain, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), 3D reconstruction, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT). 

Broadly, activities in Metaverse.

Although the so-called “Metaverse” looks like a sci-fi world, various activities will be possible in Metaverse, such as attending virtual concerts, traveling, shopping, going to the cinema, trying on clothes, etc. Furthermore, it encompasses an entire economy covering both the physical and virtual worlds, which means what we call an “embedded internet” will be decentralized. 

The Metaverse is also described as a place where users can connect, interact and move themselves and their belongings across multiple digital locations. Many people see the Metaverse as a space for entertainment and relaxation, using the digital space to meet friends, shop, or consume media.

Everyone here can seamlessly communicate and interact. In the Metaverse, people will wear visual aids and enter virtual shared spaces, connecting to

“verses” where they will work, study, shop, and make friends.

Gaming / Real estate shopping

Digital land grabs are already happening in The Sandbox, Decentraland, and several other 3D virtual worlds. Investor’s betting will play a significant role in the future of the Metaverse. Facebook is already developing new technologies to make this vision possible and has become the company that invests the most in the so-called “metaverse.” While no one will own the Metaverse itself, just as no one owns the Internet today, there will be many big players in the space, and companies like Meta, Microsoft, Unity, Epic Games, Roblox, and more want to be among them. Companies like Meta spend billions of dollars to bring science fiction to life.

Social @ Metaverse

As with social media, we may have many metaverses to choose from, offering diverse platforms with specific niches and target audiences and expanding brands’ playing field.

The Metaverse will support this social networking feature by allowing users to create their own avatars. They can interact with the virtual world and other people while reducing social network users to mere representational objects and encouraging their moral alienation from each other.

As the Metaverse becomes part of popular culture, virtual concerts and sporting events could provide artists and athletes with a new platform to interact with fans globally. Metaverse meetings use virtual reality to create more engaging, social, and interactive experiences that can be easily shown to clients. Concerts, promotions, get-togethers, and interactions can occur in the space, providing easy access to the experience for users worldwide. Facebook recently announced Horizon World, a “mixed reality” meeting space that allows users to join meetings in a virtual world, complete with avatars, virtual conference rooms and tables, and even virtual whiteboards.

Education / Entertainment

Metaverse educational products, still in the development stage, are expected to work with educators and scientists to ensure children have real human social interaction. Children explore those virtual spaces and have a real focus on diversity in representation.   

For Entertainment, Facebook has launched virtual cinema where you can watch movies with friends, or the social space added to Minecraft, or Amazon and Netflix venturing into games, or Fortnite, which entices players with a free video game and eventually incorporates aspects of the Metaverse. 

In Metaverse, the Internet will transmit data, geospatial activated content, and digital twins to the Metaverse, allowing us to understand, manipulate and model the natural world in new ways that save our time and open up new opportunities in our lives and businesses.
