Markets & Securities Services (MSS)

Markets & Securities Services enables HSBC’s corporate and institutional clients to access financial markets and liquidity, unlock investment opportunities, manage risk and transact seamlessly. This is done by bringing together financing solutions viz. sales, trading and distribution across multiple asset classes; research; clearing and settlement; global and direct custody; and asset servicing. The Global Debt Market (GDM) unit in MSS combines trading in Credit, G10 Sovereign Debt and Structured & Index Products.

The role of MI team within Distribution Platforms is to maximize the client relationship by providing insights to management and Product Owners into client behavior on Evolve. The team is also responsible for increasing adoption and usage of various apps being built on Evolve

As a member of the MI team, you will be the responsible for the following aspects:

  • Monitor trade activity of clients on Evolve to identify any anomaly and highlight such instances to the management.
  • Monitor client and sales activity on various apps built within Evolve to provide valuable insights to increase adoption and usage of these apps.
  • Publishing accurate MIs and management pack
  • Clear understanding of various data sources of trade, client and HSBC staff information.
  • Understanding of various trading and CRM systems of HSBC Global Markets.

Working in a very high paced, high risk environment where you have impact on client relationships and the revenue of the Global Markets franchise

What you’ll do: (List out Key Responsibilities):

Principal Accountabilities: Key activities and decision making areas

  • Knowledge of Investment Banking Products (FX / FIXED INCOME and EQUITIES), Trading platforms across business and companies, Messaging systems and Client Relationship Management (CRM)
  • Empathy for a retail / merchant client experience, in particular

  • Route issues to the right owner & follow up to ensure closure
  • Identify any potential inefficiencies in the current process or technology and drive change and improvement
  • Provide accurate and timely MI to Stakeholders
  • Handle any data cleansing tasks for Client Data
  • Monitor and analyse new client’s activity to improve client experience
  • Streamlining existing processes/reports and creating efficiencies
  • Proven record in demising redundant processes/reports and refining existing ones

  • Create MI and new ways of depicting client trading and activity trends for making intelligent business decisions

Technical Skills:

  • Excellent MS office Skills – Excel and Power point
  • Coding Skills – VBA, SQL, Python, R, Tableau

  • Ability to simplify complex tasks in easy formats and communicate in a simple manner

  • Strong Python skills building code to connect to database, extract data, cleanse data and build reports.
  • Good to have – basics of machine learning and implemented in any projects.
