Your role


Are you passionate about building Data platforms across different regions? Do you want to help set and implement the direction and strategy for Data Science environments at an international firm? We are looking for an IT Site Reliability Engineer or IT System Administrator with Alteryx Server and Designer experience to join our team and help us:

  • administer crucial infrastructure for Data Science platforms such as Alteryx, Dataiku, and Azure Machine Learning, both on-premise and in the Cloud
  • implement migrations, upgrades, and patches in all environments
  • Act as a Problem Manager to troubleshoot and resolve complex Technical Incidents
  • ensure “lights on” support-services are up and running in all environments
  • implement Security Standards and roles, maintain & improve existing deployments, and build automation routines to improve the service
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering, hardware, platform services, and operations
  • advise users in architecting Data preparation and Machine learning solutions, curating new services, and providing innovative input by working on a team to provide Proofs of Concept, training colleagues, and 1:1 consultancy
  • occasional on-call or weekend support required to support critical activities during non-production hours


Your team


You will be working in the Data Platform Services, Site Reliability Engineering Team in Pune, India to operate and engineer data technologies and services based on Informatica, Alteryx, and Dataiku products. We work closely with Product Engineering Teams from Data Management and Data Science, and you will be party to a new Center of Excellence for UBS Analytics. Together, as a member of the Site Reliability Engineering Team, which has a global footprint and works with clients around the world, we will drive consistency across business divisions and optimize operations by providing timely, robust, cost effective solutions and products to our clients. Your expertise

  • Hands on experience of Unix and/or Linux Administration (RHEL / Ubuntu); RHCE/RHCSA/RHCA would be preferred or equivalent experience (ideally 5+ years).
  • Knowledge of Dataiku Data Science Studio Server Administration and /or Alteryx Server Administration is a plus
  • Basic knowledge in handling and automating Windows server based application tasks via PowerShell or similar tools/technologies.
  • An ability to solve complex issues, good at problem statement analysis and solution-design thinking
  • Dev-Ops experience with strong GitLab CI/CD or Bash or Shell or similar tools/scripting languages.
  • Knowledge or experience automating operational tasks
  • Track-record of influencing IT stakeholders and business partners
  • A confident communicator that can explain technology to non-technical audiences
  • Knowledge or experience with Azure and IaaS in particular is desirable
